William J. Chase

William J. Chase is a children’s book author, storyteller, and lifelong musician whose creative world blends humor, heart, and a touch of fantasy. Based in the Upper Cumberland in Overton County, Tennessee, he shares a mid-century brick ranch with his lovely wife and three cats.

His writing ranges from playful nonfiction to imaginative adventures such as The Fabulous Feline Force, a warm, storybook‑styled series featuring heroic cats, donut‑shop charm, and gentle lessons wrapped in whimsy. William’s work is shaped by his love of Southern culture, Cumberland Plateau landscapes, and the everyday characters who make small‑town life unforgettable.

Beyond children’s literature, he also explores sci‑fi storytelling, including a developing story about a family who faces an assault of artificial intelligence, led by their robotic cat. Whether writing heartfelt sentiments, crafting imaginative worlds, or refining illustrations with a director’s eye, William brings sincerity, humor, and a unique musical rhythm to every page.

When he’s not writing, William enjoys cheering for University of Tennessee softball, watching women’s basketball (Indiana Fever), directing his church choir, and dreaming up new stories — with occasional editorial input from Dusty the Tabby, who contributes via slow blinks and strategic nap placement.
