Heather Marie Case-Hall

Hi! I'm Heather Case-Hall.

I'm a mom of three amazing kids, including identical twin girls who have kept me humble, entertained, and permanently outnumbered. I'm also a proud 22-year U.S. Army veteran, where I learned resilience, adaptability, and how to function under pressure.

I've been working in IT since 1998 and cybersecurity since 2008. Over the years, I've earned enough cybersecurity certifications that I eventually realized most HR departments had no idea what they meant. So, naturally, I went back and earned a master's degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance because apparently one degree is easier to recognize than a page full of acronyms.

These days, I help organizations make sense of cybersecurity, AI, data privacy, and risk. More importantly, I help people understand those topics without making their eyes glaze over. I believe the best security conversations happen in plain English, which is exactly why I write.

When I'm not talking about data protection, you'll probably find me in my pottery studio at Gloria's Pottery Barn, where I trade keyboards for clay and create something that doesn't require a software update.

I'm also a Cancer, which means I always feel like I should be accomplishing one more thing. I claim sleep is overrated, but if I'm being honest, I absolutely love it.

Whether you're here because you're curious about cybersecurity, AI, or just looking for someone who can explain complicated things without the buzzwords, welcome. I hope my books leave you a little smarter, a little more confident, and maybe even laughing once or twice along the way.
