Hernán Cadavid

Hernan Cadavid is a Colombian businessman, columnist, and speaker. He graduated in 1992 with a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Andes (Universidad de los Andes), where he also served as a professor, in Probability and Stochastic Processes. In 1997, he received a Master of Social Science (MSc) in Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

He began his professional career in the corporate sector with the Volvo Group in Sweden.

Throughout his career, Hernán has been recognized for his analytical thinking, leadership, and commitment to the well-being of individuals and organizations. He has published opinion columns in Portafolio, one of Colombia's leading business newspapers, and has led high-level forums in collaboration with institutions including the University of the Andes, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), CESA Business School, and Sura.

In 2019, Hernán's life changed dramatically when his wife, Adriana, was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the central nervous system. During the 933 days of her illness, he accompanied his family with purpose, love, and a remarkable ability to navigate the most difficult decisions through thoughtful analysis. That experience inspired him to write After the Implosion, a book born from real life and written to serve as a source of hope and guidance for families facing similar circumstances.

Hernan lives in Bogotá, Colombia, and is the father of Pedro and Manuela, his companions on this journey.
