Christopher C. Martell

Christopher C. Martell is a teacher educator, researcher, and associate professor of social studies education at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He worked for over decade as a high school social studies teacher, primarily in the Framingham Public Schools, which is an urban district outside of Boston. He is the author of "Navigating Tensions in Critical Social Studies: Teaching for a More Just Democracy" (with Rob Martinelle; Teachers College Press), the author of "Teaching History for Justice: Centering Activism in Students' Study of the Past" (with Kaylene M. Stevens; Teachers College Press), and the editor of "Social Studies Teacher Education: Critical Issues and Current Perspectives" (Information Age Publishing).
