Ivan Escö

The author has built a career that integrates entrepreneurship, research, social innovation, and the lifelong study of human behavior. His academic background and professional experience have developed across Spain, the United States, and Argentina, where he cultivated an international perspective on education, business, human diversity, and social development.

The son of an entrepreneur, he grew up in an environment where identifying social needs and developing business solutions were part of everyday life. This early influence sparked a deep curiosity about how organizations can become powerful instruments for generating well-being, transforming realities, and creating a lasting positive impact on society.

At the age of eighteen, he began his entrepreneurial journey. Since then, he has experienced both remarkable successes and significant setbacks, experiences that profoundly reshaped his understanding of prosperity. He came to realize that true wealth extends far beyond financial achievement and found in knowledge, lifelong learning, observation, research, and experimentation a deeper, more sustainable, and more meaningful form of personal and professional fulfillment.

His professional career has encompassed the creation and leadership of businesses, as well as active involvement in organizations dedicated to addiction rehabilitation, family support, inclusive education, and the development of high-impact social initiatives. Through these experiences, he identified a reality that would come to shape much of his research: although inclusion has made important advances in recognizing a wide range of physical, cognitive, and neurological conditions, a significant gap remains in the understanding and support of individuals with exceptional talents, giftedness, high abilities, extraordinary intellectual potential, and other exceptional cognitive profiles that continue to be overlooked within many educational systems.

Convinced that understanding human diversity requires an interdisciplinary perspective, he embarked on a lifelong academic journey guided by the belief that we are all lifelong learners. His intellectual development has been shaped by a polymathic approach to knowledge, understood as the integration of multiple disciplines to better comprehend the complexity of human beings and society. He has pursued graduate and postgraduate studies in Circular Economy, Strategic Design for Innovation, Culture and Diversity, Gerontology and Long-Term Care, Inclusive Education and Society, Diversity and Inclusive Education, Intervention in Contexts of Risk and Social Vulnerability, and Addiction Prevention and Treatment, among other fields related to human development, innovation, and social transformation. Alongside his academic work, he has developed social enterprises focused on creating sustainable solutions for social change. Nevertheless, he believes that knowledge is never complete and that learning is a lifelong responsibility.

His interest in diversity is also rooted in his own personal story. During childhood, he experienced the limitations of standardized educational models that hindered the development of different abilities. He is deeply grateful to his parents for nurturing his intellectual curiosity when it found little room to flourish within the traditional education system. Later, his international education exposed him to pedagogical approaches that transformed his understanding of learning, reinforcing his conviction that diversity is not an obstacle to education but one of its greatest strengths.

A devoted student of philosophy and an enthusiast of the human mind, culture, and society, he has dedicated much of his life to exploring the relationships between knowledge, creativity, education, and human development. This ongoing pursuit has shaped an integrative perspective that brings together philosophical reflection, scientific evidence, entrepreneurial experience, and social engagement as complementary tools for understanding the challenges of the contemporary world.

This book brings together the knowledge gained throughout his entrepreneurial career, his work in social organizations, his academic training, and his personal experiences. It is the result of years of study, research, observation, and interdisciplinary reflection, and reflects his conviction that recognizing human diversity is an essential prerequisite for expanding knowledge, cultivating intellectual potential, and educating future generations capable of transforming society for the better.
