Chel Cartmill believes the body knows before the mind admits it — and that learning to listen again can change your life.
Her debut memoir, Spider on My Neck, is the honest, tender, and unexpectedly funny story of learning to trust that quiet inner voice after years of talking herself out of it. It's a book for anyone who has silenced a gut feeling to keep the peace, mistaken control for love, or found themselves rebuilding after a season that nearly undid them.
Chel writes from experience, not theory. A Next Chapter Transition Specialist who has guided people through divorce, grief, and hard change since 2007, she helps others find their footing when life looks different than they planned. Her work is practical and human: quieting the thought spiral, learning to trust your own judgment, and moving forward with real clarity. She's a Trauma-Informed Master Coach and holds several certifications including Breathwork Facilitator, and she partners alongside people as a neutral, judgment-free guide.
She lives in Florida with her husband and their German Shorthaired Pointer, and is never happier than when she's surrounded by family, out on the water, up in the mountains, or somewhere she's never been before.
