Neil Katz spent thirty-three years working in social services for the City of Toronto, first as a case worker, then as a fraud investigator, and eventually in management. Throughout his career he became fascinated by the stories people carry, the choices they make, and the resilience they discover in difficult circumstances.
Now retired, he devotes his time to writing, reading, and travelling. His books range from historical fiction to thoughtful explorations of human nature, combining humour, compassion, and insight.
He is the author of A Flicker of Time, a novel spanning more than a century through the memories of a 107-year-old Toronto man, and LIfe Is a Metaphor: The Definitive Book of Self-Help. Several additional novels are currently in development.
