Marsha Thom is a first-time children’s book author inspired by a very real, very adventurous dog named Louie. When Louie’s curiosity led him a little further from home than anyone expected, Marsha saw a story worth telling – one about bravery, kindness, and the comfort of belonging. Louie Unleashed is her debut picture book, written for the little ones in her life and for any child who has ever felt a little lost and found their way home again. Marsha is the mother of two sons and grandmother of four granddaughters. She is a former teacher of the gifted at Alvarado Elementary School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She and her husband of 54 years have a family cabin on 74 acres in the San Juan mountains of Southern Colorado surrounded on three sides by wilderness. They have named their property Lucky Dog Camp after all the dogs they have owned and those who have visited this beautiful place where they are able to run unleashed.
