Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Alexander is the physical embodiment of "jack of all trades, master of none", otherwise known as ADHD, and has the attention span of a raccoon discovering energy drinks for the first time in the bins out the back of a Tesco Express.
They are a fantasy author who grew up reading books definitely not marketed for children, and writing without knowing what real world-building really was. They studied a HNC in Practical Journalism and then in Health & Social Care as a late teenager, and a BSc in Nursing (Mental Health) in their mid 20s, before disability caught up to them (as if they could outrun it), and they returned to their childhood love of writing fantasy and romance, inspired by their love of all things Middle Earth and high fantasy.
Their focus is on characters with lived experiences rarely covered in the books they enjoy: chronic illness, mental health difficulties and personality disorders, neurodivergence, and the less-written side of queer existence such as asexuality and gender identity. As someone disabled, neurodivergent and queer themselves, they believe that these things shouldn't have to be central to a story, but they are an important part of what makes a character, and a person, what and who they are, and enjoy bringing awareness and attention to some less-talked-about parts of queer identity, disability, and mental illness.
When they aren't writing, they're weeping over editing (a karmic punishment), receiving mortal injuries at metal gigs and festivals, terrifying their wife with the world's fastest-growing at-home library, looking after their two young children (who may or may not have been discovered in a bush somewhere feasting on mud and snails) and wrangling their Jack Russell "dog" Archie, the Rat King, Eater of Fox Excrement.
