M.Trasi Nitin

Dr. Nitin Trasi is a medical practitioner based in Sydney, Australia. The son of an eminent mathematician and theoretical physicist, he has pursued a lifelong scientific exploration of religion, philosophy, and spirituality. Drawing on decades of extensive study, deep personal inquiry, and close interactions with renowned spiritual teachers, he offers a rational and accessible perspective on the nature of Enlightenment and Liberation.

A significant influence on his work was his more than decade-long association with Sri Ramesh Balsekar, a direct disciple of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, with whom he engaged in extensive discussions on non-duality and spiritual realization. Dr. Trasi's writing seeks to explain profound spiritual truths in clear, commonsense language, free from mysticism, dogma, and unnecessary jargon.

His book The Science of Enlightenment is not merely a theoretical treatise on the nature of spiritual awakening. It also offers practical guidance for seekers, including a dedicated chapter entitled What Should I Do?, which addresses the practical implications of understanding and living these teachings.

The Science of Enlightenment was selected as a reference book by the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) (formerly the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, CIEFL) and was presented by the Government of India to 100 university libraries across the country in 1999.

Besides The Science of Enlightenment, Dr Trasi has published several articles on the subject of Enlightenment - they have been published in various journals including Prabuddha Bharata, the monthly journal of the Ramakrishna order (April 2026 issue).
