Robin Horstmann is a technology leader with three decades of experience, primarily in consumer goods manufacturing and distribution, now focused on the deployment and governance of generative and agentic AI. The Governed Enterprise: An AI Governance Playbook for Consumer Goods is her first book.
Her work spans food, supplements, pet food, and home furnishings, in both manufacturing and distribution. It reaches the full range of consumer goods sales channels: retail partners, wholesale distribution, direct store delivery, online marketplaces, and direct-to-consumer (D2C). She has implemented the enterprise systems that run modern CPG operations, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), warehouse management systems (WMS), and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Governance, risk, IT controls, cybersecurity, and change management have been her responsibility throughout that career.
Today, she is deploying agentic AI solutions and building the technical groundwork those systems require. Her certifications span privacy, security, and AI governance: AIGP (IAPP), AAISM (ISACA), CRISC, CISM, CDPSE, and PMP.
Robin lives just outside Pinehurst, North Carolina, where she is learning to play golf from her golf pro husband.
