I'm Charles Dexter Ward, an author passionate about horror, fantasy, and science fiction.

Fascinated by H.P. Lovecraft's work for as long as I can remember, I started writing to share my obsession with cosmic horror, forbidden mysteries, and truths humanity was probably never meant to uncover.

I'm the author of The Shadows of Cthulhu: A Guide to Recognizing, Avoiding, and Surviving H.P. Lovecraft's Creatures, as well as the novels Greyharbor: Lovecraft Knew and The Lovecraft Chronicles: The Place That Dreamed.

Through my work, I dive into the themes that drive me: forgotten cults, lost cities, ancient secrets, and humanity's sheer insignificance in the face of forces far beyond our understanding.

My stories pull readers into investigations where the line between reality and the unspeakable slowly dissolves.

When I'm not writing, I'm off exploring fantastical worlds and digging deeper into Lovecraft's literary legacy convinced that some books were never meant to be opened... yet unable to resist the pull to read them anyway.
