Dr Susan Simpson is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, clinician-researcher, and Advanced Schema Therapy Trainer-Supervisor with over 30 years’ experience in NHS services in the UK, including more than 25 years specialising in eating disorders. She is Director of Schema Therapy Training Scotland, Co-director of NourishED Clinic, and an Adjunct Research Associate at Adelaide University.
Susan’s research and clinical innovations focus on broadening treatment for eating disorders into a more integrative, whole-self approach, drawing on Schema Therapy, attachment and developmental theory, psychodynamic ideas, and bottom-up approaches such as Deep Brain Reorienting.
She has published widely and presented internationally. She is co-author of 'Schema Therapy for Eating Disorders', 'Breaking Negative Eating Patterns and Remembering Your True Self', and 'The Cambridge Guide to Schema Therapy'. Her work helps people move beyond survival-based coping patterns and reconnect with their authentic self.
