Kelly A Guzzi

Kelly Guzzi is the author of the Sea Friends Collection, a children's' book series inspired by the beauty, charm, and sense of community found along the coast of Maine.

Kelly and her husband first fell in love with the state of Maine during a visit in 1994. They began bringing their children the following year, and creating family memories that would span decades. In 2010 they purchased a log cabin in Maine, and over the years the state became their second home. In 2022, Kelly made Maine her permanent home and fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening Kelly's Cafe in beautiful Boothbay Harbor.

After retiring from a 30 year career in Engineering, Kelly discovered a new passion for storytelling. The idea of the Sea Friends Collection began at her cafe, where she often shares a special story with young (and young at heart) visitors - an adventure that ends with a treasure chest filled with surprises. The children love hearing the story and it eventually became A Day at the Beach, the first story in the Sea Friends Collection.

Inspired by the harbor outside of her cafe windows, Kelly continued the adventures of Alexandria the Mermaid, Bob the Dolphin, Sammie the shark, Jack the Puffin, and their friends. Through stories filled with friendship, kindness, teamwork, and a little coastal magic, Kelly hopes to inspire young readers to believe in themselves, care for others, and discover the joy of adventures.

When she isn't writing, Kelly can often be found creating scratch-made recipes, watching the boats in Boothbay Harbor, and dreaming about the next Sea Friends adventure.
