Amy R. Andersen

Amy Rose Andersen is a past winner of the National Scholastic Short Story Contest. Her novella, The Boy Who Went to Live With the Cats, was shortlisted for the Moon Meridian Novella Prize. She has co-authored "Adolescent Addiction and Assessment" and numerous medical and nursing articles, as well as a now defunct (but possibly still accessible) online Mind Body Spirit column.

A Nurse Practitioner and yoga instructor, she is active in the Humane Society and cares for several feral cat colonies. Her interests expand to those on the fringes of society, or outsiders, exploring the universal search for belonging, acceptance, and dignity for all creatures. She is inspired by all nature and the lush landscapes, heat, and wild spaces of Florida.
