Roger Lam

Roger Lam is a children's book author who cooks up stories with equal parts humor and heart to celebrate family, identity, and imagination.

His first picture book, The Dragon Who Couldn’t Breathe Fire, was published by Puffin UK in August 2026. Crown Children’s will be publishing Napping Baba and Shifu Mama in 2027 and 2028.

Roger has also juggled other joyful projects and careers, such as running a children’s literacy nonprofit, leading food tours in Chinatown, mixing Chinese-inspired cocktails as a bartender, teaching creative writing, performing stories on The Moth stage, and building education-tech products for all ages.

Roger lives in New York City with his partner, Jade, and a wok named Walter.
