J. Brian Townsend

J. Brian Townsend spent nearly two decades as a technology and data executive at institutions including Bank of America, TD Bank, UBS Warburg, and Smith Breeden Associates. His work centered on data integration, architecture, governance, and enterprise strategy, translating complex systems into clear, actionable structure.

In 2023, following a significant life event that forced a direct reckoning with questions about identity, faith, and purpose, Brian left his corporate career to focus on a personal journey of healing and transformation.

That journey led to Not My God, his first book. It examines how fear-based belief systems shape identity and behavior, traces his own path through spiritual deconstruction, and introduces an approach to faith grounded in personal truth rather than inherited obligation.

Alongside the book, Brian is developing the TX3 Method — a framework for identity-level transformation built at the intersection of nervous system science, spiritual awareness, and personal accountability. TX3, which stands for Transformation Through Translation, addresses the stories and conditioned patterns that drive behavior beneath the surface and provides a structured process for translating those patterns into lasting change. He is actively working toward bringing this framework to others through online courses, coaching, and teaching.

Brian lives in Waxhaw, North Carolina with his wife, Jessica, and four of his six children. He writes, coaches, and teaches from the conviction that real transformation begins not with behavior, but with the truth underneath it.
