Anthony A. O’Brien has spent three decades building revenue engines in markets that punish sloppy execution: energy, finance, and real estate, where the sales cycle is complex, the channel is difficult to build, and the regulatory landscape leaves no room for guesswork.
At Glacial Energy, he recruited, trained, and led a 400-person field sales force across 13 deregulated states, driving the company’s monthly revenue past 30 million dollars. He founded Spinnaker Partners, a proprietary hedge fund, and ran it for 19 years, allocating capital between debt and equity across multiple market cycles. He built Real Estate Lender into one of the country’s top commercial lenders, designing the channel strategy, underwriting cadence, and team to scale it. As Managing Director of SFE/FE Energy, he led go-to-market for an energy brand in the Commercial & Industrial segment, building a results-driven sales organization from the ground up. His career began on the capital side in equities and credit, including a role as Senior Vice President at Prudential-Bache Securities.
Across every one of those businesses, different industry, different decade, different team, the same pattern held. The companies that scaled were not the ones with the best product, strategy, or capital. They were the ones who could see what was actually happening inside the machine, measure where it was breaking, and fix it. That conviction is the foundation of Fyntra, the operator-first sales-effectiveness firm where O’Brien serves as Managing Partner and Chief Strategy Officer, rebuilding the revenue execution layer in companies that have demand the market wants but a sales machine that leaks.
He is the author of The O’Brien Method (2026), AI Won’t Fix It (2026), The AI-Ready Change Management Playbook (2026), Artificial Intelligence: Navigating the Future of Business and Society (2025), and the bestseller The Comprehensive Guide to Private Money Markets (2021) and its Second Edition.
He works best with operators who want a partner willing to challenge their assumptions and stress-test the plan, not validate it.
He lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina.
