Dharmesh Mistry

Dharmesh Mistry doesn't theorise about banking transformation, he has been delivering it for 40 years.

At Lloyds Bank he worked on branch automation across more than 2,000 branches and 40,000 desktops, building on one of the largest Windows networks of its kind he developed some of the bank's first Windows applications. He also created the single customer view at Lloyds, the data foundation that the industry is still trying to perfect today.

In 1997 he delivered the world's first insurance company online platform followed by the world's first multi-device banking solution for Co-operative Bank in 1998. In 1999 he launched Europe's first WAP mobile banking service. And in the mid 1990s he was already presenting the concept of Banking-as-a-Service before the term existed. After co-founding and delivering one of the first low code/no code platforms, he sold this company to Temenos.

As Chief Digital Officer at Temenos, he championed the "single brain" concept in banking: AI as a collaborative network of specialised agents, a full decade before agentic AI became an industry buzzword.

He writes the I'm Just Saying... column for FinTech Futures, co-hosts the Demystify podcast, and advises financial institutions on digital strategy through Vision 20/20 Consulting.

The Intelligent Ledger is the book only someone who has lived this history could write.
