SiSi K. Johnson is a faith-based author, Army veteran, occupational therapist, and mother, and she brings every one of those roles into everything she writes.
In 2024, while healing from breast cancer, SiSi received what she describes as a divine assignment from God: help others prevent and heal chronic disease, starting with the youngest among us. That calling became Seeds of Joy, and Yara's Grocery Explorations was its first fruit.
Her background in occupational therapy means she understands how children learn, grow, and develop habits that stick. Her faith grounds her in purpose. Her experience as both a veteran and a mother keeps her rooted in resilience, service, and love. And her own healing journey gave her something no credential could, the firsthand knowledge of just how much our daily choices matter.
When SiSi isn't writing, she's exploring new countries, discovering whole food recipes from around the world, spending quiet time in nature, or sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. She lives what she writes, a life of wellness, balance, and intentional self-care.
Through her books, SiSi hopes to give families the tools, the language, and the inspiration to start that same journey early, before illness, before burnout, before it becomes harder to change. She wants children to grow up knowing that food is medicine, that their bodies are gifts worth caring for, and that a healthy life is one of the most joyful lives they can live.
"I didn't just survive, I was sent back with a message. And that message starts with our children."
