Stephen Waters

Stephen Waters has spent over forty years exploring and applying the principles of the Fourth Way in everyday life. Drawn to questions of self-awareness, presence, and human development, he has studied the teachings of G.I. Gurdjieff, P.D. Ouspensky, Maurice Nicoll, Rodney Collin, and other writers associated with the Work.

Rather than approaching these ideas as theory alone, Stephen has focused on their practical application in ordinary life—through observation, reflection, and lived experience. His interest lies in making complex ideas of consciousness and self-awareness accessible to people new to the subject, using clear explanations and everyday examples.

His first book, The Return: A Journey of Self-Awareness, Presence, Identification and Living Your Real Self, is designed as a practical introduction to the Fourth Way for newcomers, helping readers explore these ideas in a grounded and approachable way.

To support this, Stephen has also created an accompanying online discussion space linked to the book. Each chapter includes a QR code that allows readers to access a forum where they can ask questions, share reflections, and discuss the material. Stephen personally engages with reader questions, alongside contributions from other readers, creating an ongoing dialogue around the work.

Stephen lives in the United Kingdom and continues to explore the practical application of conscious awareness in everyday life.
