Jorge Quiroz

Jorge Eduardo Quiroz is a Colombian writer, strategist, storyteller, entrepreneur, and cofounder of Nalaya Labs. His professional background sits at the intersection of marketing, community building, travel, human development, and technology-enabled wellness. He holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and international business from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali and a Master in Marketing Management and Commercial Management from EAE Business School in Madrid.

Before moving into human development and longevity experiences, Quiroz spent eight years in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events industry. He is the founder of Mind Technology, a digital marketing company focused on the MICE sector, and he has worked closely with family travel companies including Travel Center Group and Viajero Calificado. This commercial background matters for the book: he understands how people, communities, brands, and experiences are built in the real world.

At Nalaya, Quiroz and Elizabeth Potter design experiences that combine holistic practices with advanced technology. Nalaya integrates tools such as neurofeedback, transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation, red-light therapy, art therapy, breathwork, contrast therapy, meditation, journaling, and retreat design. The work is grounded in a central belief: there are many doors to the same place - oneself. The book develops this same belief for the age of AI.

Quiroz is also the founder of Terapia de Rechazo and the community Mas Alla del Miedo, projects built around courage, experimentation, social risk, rejection resilience, and identity beyond approval. This gives The Human Is Extra a second experiential bridge: readers are not merely asked to think differently; they are invited to practice becoming less controlled by fear, performance, and external validation.

His personal life gives the book its narrative credibility. Quiroz has lived in Colombia, the United States, Spain, Bolivia, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Kenya, Turkey, and Brazil, and has visited more than twenty-five countries. He is a divemaster and trained skydiver. These experiences are not presented as travel credentials; they become the living metaphors through which the books explore movement, escape, fear, stillness, embodiment, and presence.

Quiroz also hosts Deep DAIV, a podcast featuring leaders and managers in the events industry. This provides a direct platform for conversations around leadership, attention, technology, meaning, and the future of human connection. His existing communities across wellness, tourism, events, entrepreneurship, and digital marketing create multiple launch pathways for the book.
