Nala Emme

Nala Emme is the pen name of Naima Alam, a Canadian author and poet whose work explores the intersections of faith, identity, family, and the quiet complexities of the heart. She is the author of Everything and Nothing, a YA novel in two volumes that follows the intertwined journeys of young people navigating love, loss, and self-discovery.

She is also the author of Love and Verse: The Two Insomnias, a poetry collection that moves between romance and spirituality with lyrical intimacy. Her writing is shaped by a deep commitment to faith, authenticity, and the stories that don't always get told.

Beyond the page, Nala has been a spoken word performer and workshop facilitator, who has led poetry sessions at arts festivals and delivered creative writing programming for underprivileged youth.

She believes in the power of storytelling to build bridges between generations, between cultures, and between the parts of ourselves we are still learning to understand. With a background in professional writing and education, she brings both craft and care to everything she creates.
