Aatika Anwar Choudry

Aatika is a second generation Pakistani American, shaped by a racially charged time in the aftermath of the Civil Rights movement, having seen giants assassinated, and when passionate antiwar conversation shaped the music, movies and student bodies of the time. She always found a place to write about the world and its qualms, in her high school paper, her university's magazine, and present day publications, and received awards for her poetry such as from The National Library of Poetry, Who’s Who, and in local arenas.

Aatika attributes her creativity to the pivotal time of being of the last generation to play with their hands and with their neighbors in the streets, in a world without the ‘world wide web’, and being of the first adolescents to welcome the advent of what eventually shook the world.

Finding intense strength in her Faith, she aims to leave purposeful footprints on the land wherever tread, to share some snippets of the trek, and if nothing more, to speak of our undeniable parallels. She writes, through her debut book “Reflections of Truths” and various articles, about justice and oppression, kings and slaves, peace and revolution. Her post graduate studies in psychology add an empathetic lens to reflections of ironies and pains of our world.

Writing is one of her passions. Having gone through hard lessons and deep losses, Aatika hopes her words serve a great purpose for the reader and writer: of companion, counselor, hope and more.
