Karen Bilger

Karen Bilger is an agronomist by day and a fiction writer by night. Once her steel-toed work boots come off, she trades soil and crop science for raw creativity, crafting messy, unfiltered stories complete with passion, sass, irony, and deep, honest emotions. Mirroring her own independent spirit, her characters are often solitary souls, outcasts, and those who prefer the quiet freedom of walking alone down a gravel road.

Much of her inspiration stems from her love of the outdoors. When she’s not in the field or writing, she’s off in the wilderness somewhere—hiking, kayaking, camping, or cutting firewood.

"The Wolf & the Rabbit" is her first novel in a series based on conservation officers and Northern Ontario. She is currently in the editing stages of the second novel, "The Cedar & the Oak."
