Dr. Mark W. Durm is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Athens State University, where he taught for nearly four decades. A Tennessee native and United States Army veteran, he was the first person in his family to earn a college degree. He would go on to earn five college degrees, including a doctorate in psychology, and devote his career to teaching, research, and the pursuit of critical thinking alongside generations of students.
Dr. Durm is the author of Growing Wiser, Knowing Less: Embracing the Paradox of Wisdom and Humility, Professional Publications of an Ol' Psychology Professor, Stripped of Their Sheets: The Truth About Alabama's Most Famous Ghost Tales, and What Say You? Questions, Contradictions, and Contexts in the Bible. His writing reflects a lifelong interest in human behavior, faith, history, and the stories people tell about themselves and the world around them.
Dr. Durm lives in Athens, Alabama. Although retired from teaching, he continues to read, write, and research, believing that there is always more to learn.
