Anna Astwood

Anna Astwood is an author, advocate, and former high school counselor dedicated to helping others recognize unhealthy relationships and heal from trauma. She is the co-founder of Love Doesn’t Hurt, a nonprofit organization focused on preventing teenage dating violence through education, awareness, and support.

Drawing from her own experiences as a survivor of teenage dating violence, Anna wrote her memoir, But He Said He Loved Me, to share a journey of abuse, healing, and hope. Through her writing and advocacy, she seeks to empower survivors, encourage meaningful conversations, and remind readers that healthy love should never cause fear or pain.

In addition to her memoir, Anna creates guided journals through her company, Grace Is Love Designs, providing readers with thoughtful tools for reflection, healing, and personal growth. Her journals are designed to encourage self-discovery and support individuals on their journey toward hope and restoration.

Anna holds degrees in Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida and spent more than eleven years serving students and families as a high school counselor. She lives in Central Florida, where she continues her work as an author, speaker, and advocate, inspiring others to break the cycle of abuse and build healthy relationships.
