Gareth Witten

For more than 25 years, Gareth has advised businesses, built functional units within businesses and academic institutions. He has guided global businesses through complex competitor and market environments and negotiated large private and public investment deals. He has the unique ability to negotiate and use practical problem-solving skills (both qualitative and quantitative) to navigate a complex transaction. He has been brought into businesses to provide industry insights, to “fix” investment strategies and risk oversight functions. He was part of expert teams managing multi-asset investment portfolios of large public assets (e.g., nuclear funds for the province of Ontario, Canada). He helps businesses navigate challenging competitive environments and guides them to focus on the real vs perceived challenges both technically and with Tactical Empathy®. He has a PhD in applied mathematics and currently teaches in the Mathematical Finance Programme at the University of Toronto and has published many journal and industry peer-reviewed articles and actively contributes at industry conferences globally. He currently serves on the Board of Weizmann Canada.
