L. Frank Baum

L. Frank Baum (1856–1919) was an American author best

known for The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its thirteen sequels.

Beyond the borders of Oz, Baum was a prolific writer of short

stories, poems, and adult novels. Under various pseudonyms,

including Schuyler Staunton, Edith Van Dyne, and Floyd Akers, he

explored genres ranging from mystery to political thrillers,

cementing his legacy as one of the most versatile storytellers of the

20th century.
