Sean O'Conner

Dr. Sean O'Conner is a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant, pastor, and author with a Doctor of Ministry from Colorado Theological Seminary. He served more than twenty years in the United States Army, including deployments to Iraq, before transitioning to full-time pastoral ministry.

He served as Director and Senior Pastor of the Navajo Brethren in Christ Mission in northwest New Mexico and as Director and Administrator of Nizhoni Christian Academy, where his doctoral research focused on identity formation among Navajo youth through contextual and relational ministry. His years on the reservation shaped both his theology and his understanding of what faithful presence actually costs.

He is the author of From War to Worship: How God Led Me from the Battlefields to the Mission Field, a memoir tracing his journey from childhood hardship through military service, addiction, and calling to ministry. His second book, Restored Identity: Hope, Healing, and Presence in Navajo Ministry, draws from his doctoral work and years of lived experience serving one of America's most underserved communities.

Dr. O'Conner currently serves as Lead Pastor of Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry, Arkansas. He and his wife Amber have four children.
