Natalie Halloway is a contemporary poet and author whose work explores the beautiful, brutal, and often unspoken complexities of being human. Through emotionally honest prose poetry and vivid imagery, she writes of identity, desire, grief, resilience, and the many lives we experience, both in reality and within the worlds of our imagination.
Writing has been a passion of Natalie's since childhood. She completed her first book at fifteen, though it remained unpublished, and spent much of her life quietly filling pages with stories, observations, and emotions she wasn't quite ready to share. Eventually, she realized that the words she had kept to herself might be exactly what someone else needed to feel seen.
Originally from Missouri, Natalie has embraced a nomadic spirit, finding inspiration in unfamiliar places and the freedom of the open road. Her travels have taken her across much of the United States, following stretches of historic Route 66, wandering through desert landscapes, and discovering the contrasting beauty of small towns, sprawling cities, and everything in between. From the rolling landscapes of the Midwest to the mountains and deserts of the American Southwest, each journey has shaped her perspective on belonging, transformation, and the meaning of home.
With a desire to continue exploring, Natalie hopes to return to international travel, gathering new experiences, perspectives, and stories from beyond familiar borders. She believes that every place holds a story, every person carries an unseen history, and sometimes the greatest discoveries happen when we venture beyond the lives we've always known.
Her debut poetry collection, All in on Empty, introduced readers to her raw, confessional style, exploring grief, displacement, reinvention, and the quiet struggle of rebuilding a life when there seems to be nothing left to give.
Her second collection, What Remembers My Name, ventures into darker, more intimate territory, weaving together desire, escapism, imagined worlds, heartbreak, spirituality, and the complicated journey of rediscovering oneself. Through its pages, readers are invited to experience the emotions of many lives, lose themselves in unfamiliar stories, and perhaps recognize pieces of their own along the way.
Beyond poetry, Natalie continues to explore storytelling across multiple genres, with several literary projects awaiting their turn to be shared with the world.
When she isn't writing, Natalie can often be found wandering through bookstores in search of her next favorite read, enjoying an iced matcha at a local coffee shop, immersing herself in video games, or planning whatever adventure the next chapter of her life might bring.
Above all, Natalie writes for those who have ever felt unseen, displaced, heartbroken, or caught somewhere between who they once were and who they are becoming. Her hope is not to tell readers how to live, but to offer them a place to recognize themselves within the words.
Because sometimes, getting lost in someone else's story is exactly how we find our way back to our own.
