Janice Ogren is passionate about encouraging parents in their God-given role of turning the hearts of their children toward Him. Through writing and speaking, she shares the hope, freedom, and joy that flow from experiencing the extravagant love of God.
Since 2003, Janice has served in ministry alongside her husband, Mack, at JH Ranch in Northern California, where they have spent years encouraging families and investing in the hearts of parents and teens. Together, they also serve as facilitators at Scott River Lodge, an affiliated ministry of JH Ranch, helping to strengthen marriages through Christ-centered retreats.
Janice brings both ministry and educational experience to her work. She taught middle and high school students in English, AP English Literature, and Chemistry, served as faculty sponsor of a high school literary magazine, and homeschooled her own children from kindergarten through high school.
Having lived as a compliant child herself, Janice is passionate about helping parents recognize the hidden strengths, struggles, and God-given potential within compliant children. Through her writing, she offers practical insight and encouragement to parents, children, and adults learning to embrace their God-given voice.
While ministry has been a meaningful calling, Janice treasures her roles as wife, mother, and “G” (grandmother). She enjoys adventures and quiet retreats with Mack, family gatherings, and lively outings with the grands - where laughter, high energy, a little glue, paint, dirt, or flour are almost always involved.
Though not a natural optimist, years with her eternally optimistic husband have taught her to embrace the possibility that “today, anything can happen.” She believes God’s steadfast love, endless mercy, and sustaining grace continually invite each of us into growth, healing, and hope - a truth that remains the foundation of her faith and life.
