Umm Zakariya Williams

Umm Zakariya Williams is a former classroom teacher, reading specialist, and homeschool mother who is passionate about helping children develop strong character, a love of learning, and a connection to their faith.

Over the years, she has taught students from kindergarten through high school, worked as a dyslexia tutor, and guided countless children in developing confidence as readers. Her experience as an educator, combined with her love of children's literature, inspired her to create stories that are both engaging and meaningful.

As a homeschooling mother, Umm Zakariya enjoys sharing books with her son, exploring art and nature together, and discovering stories that nurture curiosity, kindness, and Islamic values. She believes children's books should do more than entertain—they should help young readers grow in character, strengthen family bonds, and see beauty in their faith.

Her debut picture book, My Beard, InshaAllah, celebrates a young boy's admiration for his father, the beauty of the Sunnah, and the importance of developing good character while growing up.

Umm Zakariya lives iwith her family and writes wholesome children's books for Muslim families through Noura Press.
