Marilyn Wolpin

Marilyn grew up in Lakewood, NJ, where she learned to read and write from both directions – English from the left and Hebrew from the right. Her fascination with words and alphabets led to a career in journalism as she spent ten years editing books and magazines before finishing her corporate career turning raw data into client-ready market research reports. She proofread comics for Warner Brothers, published articles in her company’s newsletter and blogs on the company website, wrote computer how-to articles for a WordPerfect Magazine, and published an article on the history of the antique postcards in a museum’s holdings for their newsletter. After retiring, she returned to her first love, writing entertaining and educational books for children. Besides reading from the left or right, Marilyn can also read upside down. Her debut picture book, BRING BACK THE BABKA! (Barefoot Books 2023) draws heavily from her Jewish roots. Her second children's book is scheduled for 2028. She has called Stamford, CT, her home for 42 years, where she raised a son and several cats, and has never won – though she tried – the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament.
