Dr. Shellie A. Harshberger

Dr. Shellie Harshberger has spent nearly twenty years teaching science, but some of her most memorable lessons arrived covered in fur.

An educator, author, and curriculum developer, Shellie holds a Doctor of Science Education degree from Indiana University and has dedicated her career to helping students and teachers thrive. Her work combines research-based practices with a healthy dose of real-world experience, humor, and common sense.

In Everything I Learned About Classroom Management, I Learned in Puppy Class, she explores the surprising parallels between effective teaching and positive dog training, revealing why consistency, relationships, and clear expectations matter so much in both settings.

When she is not writing or creating educational content, Shellie can usually be found creating art or exploring the world of Teardrop Meadow, an upcoming children's book series inspired by comfort, connection, and the remarkable bond between people and animals. She shares her home with two large dogs who continue to serve as companions, inspiration, and unofficial research assistants. Fortunately, their consulting fees remain surprisingly reasonable.
