Edward Blades writes fiction that finds dark and quiet humour in the gap between people and the societies that can't quite contain them. His characters are perpetually out of step — with institutions, communities, and the expectations of others — but even the worst of them carry something worth redeeming. He is currently working on a series of short stories exploring how young men navigate a world that doesn't understand them. His work has been successful in fiction competitions and he is an active member of several online writing communities.
