Wayne D. Burdette Jr. writes stories the way he lived them — from the inside. With more than 30 years in emergency services as a firefighter and paramedic, and a background in executive protection and tactical medicine, Wayne brings hard-earned authenticity to every page. Whether his characters are treating a gunshot wound, clearing a room, or finding love in the aftermath of a fire, it's drawn from real experience, not research.

His books span thriller, suspense, and romance, including The Black Oaks Files and The Ember Guard Series — high-stakes storytelling grounded in the human cost of the job: the bonds, the losses, and the quiet moments between the calls. He is also co-author of The Executive Protection Specialist Medic, the professional guide behind the tradecraft in his fiction.
