Federico Ramallo

Federico Ramallo is the author of The Invisible Distance, a field manual on retention, integration, and the system design behind engineering teams that work across borders. The book draws on more than a decade of running distributed teams and on his work as host of The PreVetted Podcast, where he interviews engineering leaders from Shopify, GitHub, Roku, AppOmni, and beyond.

He is also co-author, with executive coach John Klymshyn, of Open the Valve, a book on creative practice for leaders that he brought into Spanish as Abre la Válvula on a simple conviction: Latin American readers deserve this practice in a language that feels like home.

Through 1:1 coaching and the Distance Circle, a private community for engineering leaders, Federico works with Directors and VPs on what decides whether distributed teams thrive: retention, vendor attrition, and scaling AI capability without losing institutional knowledge.

He is the founder of Density Labs.
