Dustin Moore

Dustin Moore is an award-winning screenwriter, filmmaker, musician, and producer based in Northern Ontario, Canada. In 2025, he was named one of Canada’s 10 Horror Screenwriters to Watch by the Killer Shorts competition, where he was also a semi-finalist. His work has received recognition from respected competitions including Cineverse Austin, The Filmmatic

Horror Screenplay Awards, and Sudbury Indie Creature Kon, and his short films have screened at festivals across North America, Europe, and India. Dustin writes, directs, and produces his own short films through Moore Film and Sound, a boutique recording studio and indie film production company providing professional audio and video production services. His work is rooted in taking projects from the blank page to the big screen, with a particular focus on short-form storytelling that balances tight structure, emotional impact, and production reality. In addition to his creative work, Dustin has served as a juror for the Junction North Documentary Film Festival and regularly collaborates with filmmakers, musicians, and writers navigating the practical challenges of developing and executing creative works related to film and music. Afterimage distills the frameworks, workflows, and discipline he uses to develop short scripts that consistently translate from idea to finished film. He believes that a short film, when executed with intention and precision, can leave a deeper and more lasting impression than a feature.
