Oz Akan

Oz Akan writes about the human side of management — trust, fear, silence, power, and the careful truths people tell when the real ones feel too expensive. He led engineering teams for a decade, then spent another decade at AWS as a principal consultant and later Head of Technology for the Applications team, advising leaders at some of the world's largest companies through their most complex technical problems.

His first book, Know Your People, distills two decades of observation into a five-level model — Role, Range, Drive, Horizon, Fears — for seeing each person on a team clearly.

Oz lives in Atlanta with his family. He is convinced that company culture survives or dies on the small invitations to be honest.
