Josh Tonks

Josh Tonks is a British author writing heartfelt children’s mysteries inspired by the kind of adventures that once felt enormous in ordinary neighbourhoods. His Ham, Cheese & Pickles series follows three young friends solving small but meaningful mysteries across a familiar British estate, blending humour, friendship, and imagination with a nostalgic early-2000s atmosphere.

Alongside children’s fiction, Josh also writes across fantasy, adventure, and speculative fiction, often focusing on character-driven stories, cosy worlds, and emotional themes beneath everyday life.

When he isn’t writing, he works in software and spends his time developing game concepts, studying German, and collecting ideas for future stories. He is based in the UK.
