David C Saidoff

David C. Saidoff is an Israeli-American writer, clinician, educator, and author living in Kfar Adumim in biblical Judea.

A U.S.-trained physical therapist with more than four decades of experience, he specialized in pediatric home care and founded and directed a pediatric early intervention organization in New York for over twenty-five years. His professional works in therapeutic intervention have been used internationally and translated into multiple languages.

Beyond healthcare, Saidoff studied and later taught horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden, cultivating a lifelong appreciation for stewardship, growth, and the deep relationship between people, land, and generational continuity.

Born into a family deeply intertwined with Israel’s modern story, he is the son of a father who fought in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence. Decades later, as the father of IDF combat soldiers—including a son who fought in the opening battles after the October 7, 2023 attacks and helped liberate Kfar Aza—he became both witness to and active participant in one of the most consequential periods in Jewish history.

Following October 7, Saidoff stepped away from a quieter life of planting trees and tending beehives to enter what he calls “Hineni mode,” sourcing protective equipment and vital supplies for Israel’s multi-front war. His writing draws on lived experience, Jewish history, strategic insight, and moral reflection.

His work explores themes of resilience, covenant, identity, continuity, and the tension between rootedness and fragmentation in an age of upheaval.

Israel: Black Swan or White Unicorn – A Reflective Journey Through Struggle, a War of Revival, and the Spirit of the Nation is his first major nonfiction work for a general audience.

He and his wife raised nine children together and many grandchildren. They live in the Judean hills, where he continues to write, plant trees, keep bees, and reflect on the enduring relationship between people, history, faith, and nationhood.
