Sunil Sajjan

Sunil Sajjan is a writer and entrepreneur from South London, now based in New Jersey. He writes across two series, both asking the same question: how do the systems we are born into shape who we become?

His History of... series follows subjects from their origins to their consequences — told as human history, not academic record. His books include The History of Indentured Servants, which draws on his own family's story, and The History of Football: From the Terraces to the Billions.

The Inner Algorithm series goes inward. Drawing on his own life — a mentally unwell mother, addiction, collapsed relationships, decades of running from patterns he hadn't learned to name — Sunil examines the damage formed in childhood and carried into adult life. These are not self-help books with clean edges. They are honest accounts of what it costs to look at yourself clearly, and what becomes possible when you finally do.
