James Alderson is a writer now based in central France. He writes on questions of faith, formation, and the ordinary work of becoming. While We Wait: Reflections on Kingdom Living is his first book — a reflection on the three parables Jesus told in the final week of his life, and on the journey through which he came to read them honestly.
The book began in one of the hardest seasons of James's life. At fifty-five, after his father's death, he discovered that an inheritance he had quietly assumed was his future was no longer his. The financial mess that followed, and the long inner work it forced, became the ground out of which While We Wait slowly emerged. He writes not as a teacher but as a fellow traveller — offering testimony rather than instruction.
James is the founder of Berean Press, a small Christian publisher built on the conviction that books shaped by Biblical principles should also be made by them. Books Two and Three of the While We Wait trilogy are in editing, with a French translation in progress. He also writes resources for A Level Religious Studies students.
