Michael R. Hill is an interdisciplinary scholar and artist with doctorates in geography (1982) and sociology (1989) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His interests include: Harriet Martineau, Harriet Monroe, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Roscoe Pound, archival research, the history of sociology, visual sociology and the sociology of the visual arts. Michael lives and works in Southwest Michigan. Together with Janice Marie Zerfas, Michael also writes under the joint pen name of Harriet Marcele Rose.
