Barbara Rockman is author of the poetry collections, "Sting and Nest", Sunstone Press, winner of the New Mexico Book Award; "to cleave", University of New Mexico Press, winner of the National Press Women Prize and finalist for the International Poetry Book Award. Her 2026 collection is "Night said", University of New Mexico Press.
For 30 years, Rockman has taught poetry at Santa Fe Community College, in community workshops and has led workshops to bring poetry to victims of domestic violence, adults living with mental illness and, through the Voice Project, to Santa Fe's unhoused community. Her widely published poems have won numerous prizes and been nominated multiple times for the Pushcart and Best of the Net prizes. She has organized several readings series and participated in numerous art and poetry installations.
