Joseph Mesa

Joseph Mesa is a professional driver trainer, author, and driver safety educator with more than a decade of hands-on experience in the trucking industry. As the creator of "The Professional Driver Survival Series", he has written a growing collection of books designed to help commercial drivers strengthen their habits, protect their CDL, and carry themselves with the professionalism the road demands.

Before entering transportation, Joseph built a diverse career across several industries. He spent sixteen years in the corporate world working in purchasing and cost accounting, served three years as a computer systems administrator, and gained additional experience in private security and warehousing. From operating forklifts and loading trucks to understanding purchasing, costs, and logistics, those experiences gave him a well-rounded perspective on both the road and the business behind every load.

Joseph writes the way he teaches—plainly, practically, and with genuine respect for the person behind the wheel. His books address DOT readiness, vehicle inspections, roadside violations, safety habits, road discipline, professional development, and the mindset required to build a lasting career. His independently written work reflects his own professional experience, research, and commitment to helping drivers succeed.

His message also reaches beyond regulations and checklists. Joseph understands that some of life’s hardest journeys happen away from the highway. He writes with the perspective of someone who has faced adversity, rebuilt from the ground up, and emerged with a deeper commitment to faith, integrity, service, and perseverance.

His faith in Jesus Christ anchors his life and influences the honesty, compassion, and sense of responsibility found throughout his work.

Joseph’s mission is simple: to help drivers take pride in their craft, protect what they have worked for, and become the kind of professionals others can trust and look up to.

Joseph lives in California’s Central Valley with his wife and their three children. When he is not writing or training, he enjoys investing in the people around him, encouraging others through difficult seasons, and helping them recognize what they are truly capable of.
