Cathy is a globally recognized leader in AI and the EY Global Responsible AI Leader for Assurance. She advises Fortune 100 executives, boards and policy makers on how to build AI systems that balance innovation and safety, accountability and public trust.
With a 30+ year career spanning global AI strategy, risk governance, and ethical AI deployment, Cathy bridges the gap between technical capability and practical leadership. Her work has shaped enterprise AI strategies, board-level conversations, and national policy dialogues across North America, Europe and beyond.
She is co-author of The AI Precipice: An Executive Guide to Balancing AI Innovation and Safety, written with Dr Cindy Gordon. The book offers a practical framework for leaders navigating the accelerating risks and opportunities created by AI.
Cathy serves on several technical advisory committees to develop industry and regulatory standards for AI. She earned her MAcc from the University of Waterloo and resides in Oakville, Canada.
