Fernando Alfonso is an executive, coach, writer, and father — in that order some days, and in a completely different order on the days that matter most.

For nearly two decades he operated at the highest levels of the technology industry, leading teams and driving transformation at Oracle, IBM, Red Hat, and VMware across markets, cultures, and moments of real organizational pressure. But the skill that defined his career was never technical. It was human. The ability to walk into a room, understand what was really happening beneath the surface, and help the people in it move forward — together, and with clarity.

His passion is helping people grow. As an executive, that meant building high-performance teams in demanding environments, coaching leaders through the invisible weight of responsibility, and creating the conditions where individuals don’t just deliver results.

Beyond the boardroom, Fernando has always believed that growth doesn’t live in one domain. He has worked with people across disciplines — professional development, personal reinvention, performance under pressure — understanding that the same principles that make someone an exceptional leader also make someone an exceptional human being. He is a husband and the father of three children — Diego, Josefina, and Sophie — and his commitment to being genuinely present in their lives is not a value he writes about. It is a decision he made, at great personal and professional cost, and lives every single day. He believes that the most important leadership a person can practice is the kind that happens at home — in the homework done together, in the conversations in the car, in the simple act of showing up fully for the people who need you most.
