Scott Beardsley

Scott Beardsley is the pastor of East Ridge Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he is passionate about helping people know Christ, grow in their faith, and live on mission. With a heart for clear, practical teaching, Scott writes to equip everyday believers to apply God’s Word in real life, not just understand it.

Before entering full-time ministry, Scott served for 20 years in the United States Army, retiring as a First Sergeant. His time in the military deeply shaped his leadership, discipline, and commitment to serving others, qualities that now carry over into his preaching, writing, and pastoral ministry.

Scott holds a Master of Divinity in Homiletics from Liberty University, where he further developed his passion for biblical preaching and communication.

He is the author of "Your Mess is the Message" and other works focused on helping believers turn their personal stories into powerful tools for sharing the gospel. His writing is marked by a conversational, relatable style that connects deeply with readers who may feel unqualified, uncertain, or overlooked.

Scott and his wife, Crystal, have three daughters, Mikayla, Natalie, and Ava. Whether preaching, writing, or leading, his mission is simple: to point people to Jesus and remind them that God can use even the messiest parts of their story for His glory.
